6 CE - Post Surgery Lymphatic Drainage Method is a course designed to teach massage therapists safe, evidence-informed manual lymphatic drainage principles for post-surgical clients. The course reviews lymphatic anatomy, lymph formation, lymph movement, drainage pathways, node regions, and the role of the lymphatic system in fluid return and tissue recovery.

Participants will learn light, rhythmic, skin-stretch-based MLD techniques, including stationary circles, pumps, scoops, and rotary strokes, with emphasis on pressure, direction, sequencing, contraindications, red flags, medical clearance, and procedure-specific modifications. The course includes applications for breast procedures, body sculpting, abdominoplasty, liposuction, oncology-related surgeries, lymph node removal, orthopedic procedures, facial/neck surgeries, and full-body drainage sequencing.

1. Describe the anatomy, physiology, pathways, nodes, ducts, and fluid movement of the lymphatic system.
2. Demonstrate foundational MLD strokes using proper light pressure, rhythm, skin stretch, direction, and body mechanics.
3. Apply proximal-to-distal sequencing principles for safe post-surgical lymphatic drainage.
4. Modify MLD sessions for breast surgery, body contouring, oncology, lymph node removal, orthopedic, facial/neck, and abdominal procedures.
5. Identify contraindications, red flags, documentation needs, and referral situations requiring medical or surgical follow-up.
